RERA Will Take Legal Action Over False Complaints - News
Date Listed: Monday, March 08, 2010
Dubai’s Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) has said it will take legal action against anyone who gives false information when making a complaint. This is clearly stated on the agency’s online complaint form – “providing wrong information regarding the opponent may lead to legal action being taken against the complainant”. RERA says that the law will reduce the burden on the authority by lessening the volume of unnecessary complaints. It also says that legal action will only be taken against real estate law-breakers when proper evidence can be provided, and reminds us that complaints for refunds or compensation should be taken to the courts.
