Date Listed: Friday, February 26, 2010
The first residents of the Burj Khalifa will soon be moving into the tower’s Armani Residences. The Burj’s developer Emaar Properties is currently holding an orientation programme for the owners of the Armani Residences. Work on the Burj’s residences is still going on but it is in its end stages. The Armani Residences will be the first residential properties to be handed over in early March; these comprise 144 private apartments designed by Giorgio Armani himself. The next project within the world’s tallest skyscraper to be completed will be the Armani Hotel Dubai, which will feature up to level 8 and also levels 38 and 39. Emaar says that the handover process can take between 2 and 6 months. The developer has spent $1.5bn on the masterpiece of a building since the beginning of its construction in 2004. At peak construction times there were some 12,000 workers involved in its creation.
